Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.

As part of the Business Banking team, my primary duty is to manage the workflow of new loan requests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while keeping all parties up to date to effectively facilitate loan closings. I’m responsible for reviewing items specific to each file, acting on them and providing ongoing details to our internal team and outside parties.

I have the pleasure of working closely with each Business Banking team member. I also work with multiple outside vendors, including various escrow and title companies, law firms and others. My role has allowed me to build rapport and relationships, which I value greatly. In addition, I play a role in compliance as well as post-closing and operational items.

Every day brings something new, and I’m honored and grateful to be a part of the amazing work we do as a team at the Credit Union.

What was your first job?

My first job was at Subway while I was in high school.

How did you come to be an SCE Credit Union team member?

I was introduced to the Credit Union by an old high school friend many years back. I was first hired as receptionist and within a year, I had transitioned to a Member Service Representative role. I also spent time as a Financial Service Consultant, where I did underwriting on consumer loans. Prior to moving to the Business Banking department, I was an underwriter on the Real Estate team for almost 17 years.

I’ve been in my current position since 2016 – I’m constantly growing in my role through hands-on experiences and mentorship. I’m grateful for the learning and growth that has come with working at the Credit Union, and I’m especially looking forward to what’s to come!

How do you spend your free time?

I’m a mom to three wonderful children, now all young adults. My youngest attends UC Santa Barbara – I cherish going to visit her.

I appreciate the outdoors and enjoy going on hikes. Last year my family and I traveled to Utah to hike at Zion National Park – it’s a must see! Traveling and making memories over the last few years with my family has been the best.

Dodger blue runs deep in our family. I remember my great grandma listening to games on her radio.  Family time at games warms my heart. One of my other favorite pastimes is going to Disneyland with family and friends. A little Disney magic always soothes my soul.

Do you speak any languages, other than English?

I don’t currently, but I’m looking forward to learning ASL.
