Senior Loan Processor
Team Member since 2006
Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.
My official title is Sr. Loan Processor and as the title suggests, I process various types of consumer, real estate and business loans. I immensely enjoy what I do because it has meaning and purpose. When we do our jobs well, our members benefit by way of taking advantage of our many loan products designed to improve the financial lives of our valued members. It gives me great pleasure and privilege to hear from our members after we’ve granted a loan about how our services have helped them realize a financial goal or a dream. Whether it’s their very first car, a personal loan for a vacation, or a credit card for holiday shopping, I’m blessed to be in a position that allows me to help fulfill our members’ financial needs.
What was your first job?
The very first position I held at the Credit Union was in our Member Records department, primarily in charge of scanning and archiving documents.
How did you come to be an SCE Credit Union team member?
I started my career at the age of 45, having no prior work experience. The Credit Union saw potential in me and gave me the opportunity to realize that potential. Here I am, 16 years later performing a critical task for our internal and external members. Trust me when I say it’s never too late to do anything in your life. As long as you have a positive attitude, a support system to get you through, and the grit to keep going when everything is against you, you’ll achieve your goals. Perhaps not everyone will be as fortunate as I am to work for such an amazing organization, but there are endless possibilities out there for anyone who’s willing to take a risk and put in the time and effort to realize their dreams and goals.
How do you spend your free time?
I have two grown children and one grandson, who’s the love of my life! My hobbies include designing, decorating, reading, and spending as much time with my family as possible. I love the holiday season, which for me starts as early as September. Shopping for holiday decorations and planning that year’s particular decoration theme is a year-round project I enjoy very much. Me and my family also enjoy giving back to people who are less fortunate. We often drop off clothes and food to the homeless and provide funds, clothes, and toys to foster homes. In terms of my life goals, the Credit Union has already helped me to realize my career goals by giving me an opportunity to work for such an amazing organization. I look forward to continuing to grow here and take on new challenges at SCE FCU. On a personal note, I love to travel and hope to have the opportunity to travel around the world on a full-time basis.
