Create Good. It’s the description for our multifaceted outreach as well as an inspiring call to action. Offering accessible products and services is a significant part of our contribution, but we also play a supportive role. We seek out the financially underserved. Financial education and empowerment are among our goals. Of course, we can’t Create Good without dedicated, talented, good people on our team – people like Pascual Garrido. In addition to what he does in his role at the Credit Union, Pascual dedicates tremendous amounts of time and energy to helping others. Here’s a well-deserved spotlight on Pascual…

The Path

Pascual is a resident of Upland and is the proud parent of two children with his wife Karina. After amassing 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Pascual Garrido began working for SCE Credit Union. That was more than 23 years ago. He was originally brought on board to manage a newly opened branch in Boyle Heights. From the beginning, Pascual started getting involved. He would sit on several boards, including the East Los Angeles YMCA, White Memorial Hospital, and Hollenbeck Police & Business Association. Pascual was President of the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce for three years.

After being the Branch Manager, he became the Manager of Community Relations, and later the Director of Business Development and Community Relations. His talents and commitment make him especially suited for the position he holds today, Director of Legislative and Community Affairs.

As Director of Legislative and Community Affairs, Pascual builds relationships with local, state and federal legislators within the Credit Union’s field of membership. His efforts have led to partnerships involving educational workshops as well as events that help families and individuals get a better grasp of their finances.

Pascual is committed to underserved, low-income families. He helps steer them away from predatory lenders and puts them on a path to a better future. Pascual is a champion of the Credit Union’s goal to end the cycle of poverty prevalent in so many Southern California and Southern Nevada communities. For his dedication and contributions, Pascual has been widely recognized.

Here’s a short sample of the recognition Pascual has received:
